Celebrating a Milestone: Sierra Leone’s First Class of Locally Trained OB/GYN Specialists

The Mama-Pikin Foundation congratulates the first ever class of Sierra Leonean specialist obstetrician-gynecologists trained in our country!

We are very proud of every single one of you, and we are so thankful and privileged that the Ministry of Health trusted us to support them to assist with training. We give immense thanks to our anonymous donor, as this work would not have been possible without their generous grant. CONGRATULATIONS OB/GYN DOCTORS!!!


“On behalf of the entire Faculties of the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, University of Sierra Leone Teaching Hospitals Complex, Freetown, and the Management and Staff of Princess Christian Maternity Hospital, Freetown, I humbly announce the 100% (8/8) success of our Sierra Leone-trained Resident Doctors at the Membership examinations (Specialists Cadre) of the West African College of Surgeons that were held from 15th – 17th October 2024.”

Our immense gratitude goes to the Large Anonymous Donor and also to the Mama Pikin Foundation, Partners in Health, the HOD & Consultants at the Department of O&G, Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Accra, Ghana.

I also recognize and give gratitude to my Colleague Trainers at PCMH – Drs. Gabriel Ganyaglo and Michael Ezeanochie. Also, the Medical Superintendent (MS), PCMH (Dr. Amadu Sesay), the Specialists, Senior Residents, and Junior Residents in the Department.
