The Mama-Pikin Foundation hosts delegation from MSD for Mothers.

Sierra Leone continues to face high maternal mortality rates, with postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) responsible for the majority of maternal deaths. From July 9–11, 2025, the Mama-Pikin Foundation (MPF) hosted a delegation from MSD for Mothers which was one of the organizations supporting MPF to train healthcare workers throughout the country on the use of Heat Stable Carbetocin, and Tranexamic Acid for prevention and treatment of PPH.
The visit included meetings with key stakeholders in the Ministry of Health, the Princess Christian Maternity Hospital, Makeni regional hospital, community health centers (Masongbo and Panlap), the National Medical Service Agency, and partners like UNFPA and Project HOPE. The delegation commended MPF & Sierra Leone for their work training and disseminating use of these life-saving drugs throughout the country.
